What We Do

Something to aim for…

Both target shooting and shotgun shooting are part of the syllabus within the RAF Air Cadets and is taught as a skill to be developed.

Shotgun shooting at Marne Barracks is one of our many weekend activities and is a great day out!

Target rifle shooting makes up our shooting qualifications- cadets may start out on the small .144 air rifle to allow them to gain an understanding of the principles before moving on to bigger things!

A particularly skilled marksman may receive the opportunity to represent Durham/Northumberland Wing at Bisley or even represent the entirety of the RAFAC at the Cadet Inter-Service Skill At Arms Meeting (CISSAM) where you would use the L81A2 rifle.

Each cadet requires a valid weapon handling test on the weapon they’ll be using before they can take part in this activity.
