Previous Squadrons: 1027 (Jarrow) Squadron

“I joined 1027 (Jarrow) Squadron in 1964 as a cadet, rising to the rank of Flight Sergeant and stayed on as a Civilian Instructor prior to joining the Army Reserves. After a career in engineering and then apprentice training, I am now retired.

“I became a volunteer at a local aviation museum and this brought me back into contact with the Air Training Corps when 2214 Squadron became involved with the construction of a First World War aircraft replica for their local museum, marking the centenary of World War One.

“With the rebuilding of the squadron after the Coronavirus pandemic, I was asked to join the Civilian Committee and became the Chairperson.”
